The Oil Creek Flemings of Venango County, Pennsylvania,
with
related families McClintocks, Culbertsons, Jamisons, Lytles, Morrisons,
Watsons and Hendersons; therefore it contains people who helped me

all the lines, not just the Lytles.
I wish to thank my uncle, the late William H. Fleming, Jr.,
and his
family (5707 Casino Drive, Holiday, Florida 34690 [1999]) for
photographs of some of the Fleming and Lytle ancestors and for
generally providing information on the Fleming lines, especially the
names and birth dates of James Lytle's brothers and sisters. I am
grateful to my cousin Helen B. Palmer (4134 East 31st Street, #314,
Tulsa, Oklahoma 74135-1751 [1999]), who at age 87 provided most
valuable information on the Lytles and Flemings by patiently copying
and sending me handwritten material pertaining to Flemings and Lytles,
as well as providing several photographs of Fleming and Lytle

My first cousin Margaret (Peg) Fleming (5707 Casino Drive, Holiday,
Florida 34690 [1999]) furnished information on William and Josephine
Lytle Fleming’s descendants. I am grateful to my cousin Olive Peters
(McCook, Nebraska), who, when it became apparent she would not be able
to finish her Lytle family history, sent me her valuable material on
Lytles and Morrisons. Olive passed away in the summer of 1997. The
services of Mrs. Alice E. Morrison, (P. O. Box 35, Cooperstown,
Pennsylvania 16317 [1999]), professional genealogist, now retired, and
former natural historian of Venango County, Pennsylvania, were
invaluable in my search for Fleming (and Clifford) ancestors. My cousin
